Dr. Vaughans offers individual and group psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults.
He holds a Certificate of Specialization in Clinical Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis from the Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis at New York University
Dr. Vaughans was the founding editor of the Journal of Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and is co-author of the book "The Psychology of Black Boys and Adolescents," published in 2014.
He is also one of the leaders of the group Black Analysts Speak.
He was chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Harlem Family Institute from May 2016 until April 2019.
HFI is a diversity-sensitive psychoanalytic-training institute that seeks to train candidates from many different backgrounds to become psychoanalysts through clinical work in underserved communities. It is especially interested in issues of diversity and discrimination, race, ethnicity and racism.
