FOUR-YEAR PROGRAM: FURTHER TRAINING IN CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHOANALYSIS

Graduates of the Three-Year Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program may continue their training for a fourth year.

Program Requirements

Program requirements provide a solid base for independent practice. They include:

  • 5 clinical sessions minimum per week during the academic year, of which two children are seen twice a week
  • 1 year of weekly general supervision
  • 1 year of a weekly tutorial, for 1 1/2 hours throughout the academic year, with readings in child and adolescent studies
  • 40 hours of personal psychotherapy, once a week, adding to the three years of twice a week psychoanalysis
  • In the final semester, candidates will present a case, in an informal collegial setting, drawn from a single case supervision
  • Upon a successful completion of the fourth year, candidates will receive a certificate in child and adolescent psychoanalysis.
